31/7/1944 – From the Fallingbostel prisoner of war camp. Postcard sent by Romano Brussato for his daughter’s birthday.
“Dear Giuliana, for the first time after three years from your birth, your distant father writes to you personally. Your childhood cannot conceive with what pain I have to wish you birthday wishes in such circumstances, but accept that perhaps these wishes are worth more than any gift made. Your and mom’s thought gives me so much will to overcome sometimes even evil. I renew my birthday wishes, kissing your dad so much.”
