Benedetti Tommaseo High School – Angelo Coatto and Sandro Gallo

Sandro Gallo and Angelo Coatto fought the fascist oppression until their death in 1944. Their stories lead back to the Benedetti high school in Venice, where Angelo was a student and where Sandro taught. Both studied a lot and graduated with honors, reaching the position of teacher one and doctor the other. Two brilliant minds who never stopped being politically and socially active, always siding against the fascist dictatorial regime and never bowing in the face of injustice.
Two men who dedicated their lives to defending and spreading the healthy values they relied on; two men who fell, brutally, at the hands of fascism; two stories united by courage and determination, perseverance and integrity; Two important stories that deserve to be remembered.
