Rosa De Leon (1878–1944)

Rosa De Leon was born in Venice on September 27, 1878. She was the daughter of Leone De Leon and Anna Bassan.

On December 5, 1943, she was arrested during the the first major raid of Venetian Jews. She was initially transferred to the Fossoli camp and then, in February 1944, to Auschwitz. Here she was assassinated on arrival on February 26, 1944.

In his memory, a stumbling stone was placed in front of the Israelitic House of Reston January 21, 2021.
