EXPLORING THE MAGREDI OF SAN QUIRINO WITH YOUNG AND OLD

On Sunday, April 21, a visit to the San Quirino Regional Natural Biotope was organized for children and parents, following the many initiatives organized by the Municipality and the FVG Region to pave the way for the final Workshop dedicated to the lowland stable meadows supply chain, which will be held on May 25 at the cataloging center of the Magredi of the same Municipality. The naturalistic walk was led by the Deputy Mayor, Gabriele Meneguzzi, Vincenzo Sponga, and Dr. Stefano Fabian of the Biodiversity Service. The visit to the Magredi involved a total of about 70 people, including children and parents, who were able to experience firsthand the richness of a lowland meadow whose hay is mowed by a local farm that uses it for extensive farming. They were thus able to understand firsthand the close relationship that inextricably links lowland stable meadows with extensive agriculture and the presence of insect pollinators indispensable to humans.
Over 500 people have been involved in the Biodiversity Service’s initiatives in February, March, and April alone.
