| Riassunto (massimo 650 caratteri spazi inclusi) | L'iscrizione conserva un decreto del demo attico di Halai Aixonides datato al 368/7 e riguardante alcune modifiche nella procedura dell'euthyna locale. Il proponente del provvedimento è un certo Euthemon e, secondo le nuove regole previste dal decreto, il demarco e i tesorieri erano tenuti a depositare ogni mese il conto (logos) delle entrate e delle uscite in una scatola (kibotos), verosimilmente sigillata, per poi procedere, alla fine del loro mandato, alla rendicontazione annuale attraverso i conti estratti dalla scatola, con il coinvolgimento dell’euthynos e dei suoi paredroi. La maggiore rigidità della nuova procedura, con non solo il rendiconto annuale, ma anche una presentazione mensile dei logoi, ha fatto ragionevolmente ipotizzare un qualche episodio di malversazione all'interno della comunità demotica, che dovette occasionare e rendere necessaria una tale riforma. Dunque, il decreto contribuisce a consolidare l’idea della forte autonomia di cui i demi dell'Attica godevano, tanto da poter agire sulle proprie regole interne per assicurare il corretto funzionamento dell’amministrazione e dell’economia locali. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
