L'epigrafe si colloca  su una stele su cui è incisa, a bassorilievo, un'edicoletta composta da due colonne e un'architrave che ospita, al centro, un rilievo raffigurante due trecce di capelli. La dedica riporta nome e patronimico di due fratelli offerenti, Philombrotos e Aphthonetos, corredato di e, di seguito, il nome della divinità destinataria dell'offerta, al dativo. Il dono votivo proviene da Tebe Ftiotide in Tessaglia ed è destinato a Poseidone, il cui culto nella regione era connesso ai riti di passaggio all'età adulta. La scelta di realizzare ed offrire la stele è motivata dalla volontà di conferire durevolezza e concretezza ad un dono (di capelli veri) che altrimenti non si sarebbe conservato, considerando la sua deperibilità.

  • Structure: prose, l'iscrizione è disposta su una sola linea, con ductus destrorso.
  • Execution technique: engraved.
  • Special letters: mymy; omicronomicron; sigmasigma.
  • Paleography: my regolare e rettangolare; omicron di dimensioni più piccole rispetto alle altre lettere; sigma quattro tratti. Si nota inoltre una leggera apicatura delle lettere: soprattutto in alpha, eta, my, rho, sigma, chi.
  • Arrangement: left-to-right.
