Con questo decreto, che era presumibilmente esposto nel santuario di Atena Polias, Priene onorò della cittadinanza, dell'esenzione dalle tasse e della libertà di commercio Antigono figlio di Filippo, identificato dalla quasi unanimità della critica con Antigono Monoftalmo. Queste disposizioni furono approvate sotto la pritania di Ippocrate, ma la mancanza di riferimenti cronologici assoluti impedisce di datarle con esattezza. A questo proposito, ammesso di accettare la comune identificazione dell'onorando, si può solo affermare che il decreto fu votato quando Antigono era ancora satrapo di Frigia, di Licia e di Panfilia, cioè tra il 334 e il 306 a.C, dal momento che nel testo egli non è indicato con il titolo regale. Gli studiosi si dividono tra quanti pongono il decreto nel 334 a.C., collegandolo agli interventi di Alessandro Magno a favore di Priene, e quanti suggeriscono una data più bassa, mettendo in relazione il documento con l’attività svolta da Antigono a tutela dell'autonomia delle città greche.

Traduzione
È stato deliberato dalla boulé e dal popolo, il secondo giorno del mese di Metagitnione, riunita l’assemblea ordinaria, essendo i Prienei autonomi, sotto la pritania di Ippocrate. Siano concessi ad Antigono, figlio di Filippo, macedone, essendo egli benefattore e ben disposto nei confronti della città di Priene, la prossenia e la cittadinanza, il diritto di possedere terra e casa, l’ateleia per tutto ciò che fa parte del suo patrimonio, ad eccezione della terra, la libertà di commercio in guerra e in pace in totale sicurezza pur senza un formale trattato, il diritto di intervento davanti ai magistrati e all’assemblea del popolo dei Prienei per primo dopo la trattazione delle cose sacre; questi diritti siano concessi a lui e ai suoi discendenti.
